Got this portable unit from ebay.  It works great! It even plays my cd+g disc & cd-r's, plus the usual base case cd-i & photo-cd.  Have some features, like the superimpose, which I have no clue since I did not get a manual.  Tried Google but no luck.  Does any have this unit and can post the manual?

Does it have a standard MiniDIN serial port? Or any serial or other generic communication port at all?

It has two MiniDin ports: one says I/O Port and the other one CONTROL, where I connect the provided remote control.  By the way, only its own remote control and the CD-i mouse work on it, but not the game pad (22ER9021) or the CD-i joystick (Tecno Plus TP 521).  It also has a Y/C OUT, VIDEO OUT, VIDEO IN, a SUPERIMPOSE ON/OFF switch control, a LINE OUT (but the volume has no effect on it) and a MIC input.  I tested the CD-i interlink but it is the only disk it does not want to read! Oh, and the Frog Feast that is in development.

Are you referring to the CD-Interlink disc or my CD-i Link program (part of CD-i Stub)? Obviously I can only comment on the latter...

What do you mean "does not want to read?" If the screen stays blue or black or whatever you normally see when a CD-i is starting, thats actually supposed to happen; CD-i Stub does its only i/o via the serial port (if it can find one). From what you're writing it sounds like at least one of the MiniDIN is actually a "regular" serial port; it should be possible to connect a CD-i null modem cable and communicate over it...

I'll change this in the next version so there's some visual feedback that the program did in fact start :-)

Yes, I am referring to the CD-Interlink disc.  Since I have not created the null modem cable yet, I haven't tried the communication capability on any of these two utilities.  But with CD-Interlink you have a visual of the file structure in memory and sometimes read them on the sreen as well. The "does not read" means that a window pops up saying "This disc is not played back. Please check your disc." However, both of them (Interlink and Frog Feasr) play fine in all my other CD-i players: 220, 350, 550 & IVO-V11.  Can't hardly wait to build the cable!

If you get the cable and the program working, cdilink will also allow you to see the files in memory and upload/download them to your PC. See the documentation included with the program for more information.

There are some things I can add if it doesn't work, so please let me know your results!

In two weeks I'll be done with my semester and I will work on this.  Keep you posted.
