After being in recruit mode for a while you get to change classes, it just matters what lvl you are.

Recruit- Change to Cavalier at lvl35 or wait for Knight at lvl40

Cavalier- Change to Paladin at lvl125 or Great Knight at lvl120

Knight- Change to Great Knight at lvl120 or wait for General at lvl130

Respect Scale/Specialize Chart-

1.General= Specializes in- Axes, Swords, Lances.
2.Paladin= Specializes in- Axes, Swords, Lances.
3.Great Knight= Specialzes in- Axes, Swords, Lances.
4.Knight= Specializes in- Swords, Lances.
5.Cavalier= Specializes in- Lances.
6.Recruit= Specializes in- Lances
