C'est vrai, je n'avais pas remarqué, on dirait vraiment qu'il y a des gorges aux réas, mais ce ne sont que des bavures de ponçage, les poulies font 3 mm de diamètre et 7 à 8/10ème d'épaisseur, je n'y ai pas creusé de gorges

Showing what is nnot there on photos is an art.
That is true, I did not notice.  It really looks like there are grooves but they are only sanding marks.  The sheaves are only 3mm in diametre and about .8mm thick and I did not cut the grooves

Il me semble que G.D a dit quelque part que les réas  étaient en gayac, il faut noircir le laiton.     ,moi aussi je vais devoir changer mes lunettes, car j'ai cru aussi que vous aviez fait les gorges des poulies.

I think that GD mentionned that the sheaves were made out of "gayac" (lumber).  The brass must be blackened.
I will also have to change my glasses  as I also thought that the did cut grooves in the sheaves.

Voilà un beau tableau !

Concernant la disposition des chassis des fenêtres, tu as suivi les indications données par G.D., c'est à dire les fausses fenêtres à l'extérieur les vraies à l'intérieur. Je suis quand même étonné car je n'ai vu cette disposition sur aucun modèle (même ceux des maîtres en la matière), de plus dans le V. 74 J. Boudriot ne fait mention de cette disposition.

As far as the windows, did you follow the information given by GD, that is false windows on the outside and the real ones on the inside.  I am still surprised because I have not seen this disposition on any model.  Further more, there is no mention of such dispostion in Jean Boudriot's 74 gun ship

Armand a eu raison, ce n'est pas appliqué en modélisme mais avec un plan de coupe d'une Grande Chambre il n'y a pas photo.
FenetresSoleilGD a une fois de plus raison,le plan en question date de 1689 :

Effectivement Pierre sur le plan ci-dessus les chassis des fenêtres de l'arrière sont situés à l'intérieur alors que ceux des fenêtres latérales sont à l'extérieur. Il est dommage qu'il n'y ait que des vraies fenêtres sur le plan.

You are right Pierre, looking at the your plan the stern windows are shown on the inside.  The side windows are located on the outside.  To bad that there are only real windows on the plan.

J'ai essayé de respecter l'horizontalité du dessus de tableau, mais c'est assez vicieux à habiller, avec la double courbure. On verra ce que çà donne une fois tout sec.

I tried to keep the rail horizontal but taking the double curve into account we will see how it turns out once dry.  It is quite tricky to do.

Il me semble que sur le plan le tuyau d'évacuation dépasse au dessous de la sole.

I see that you have put a plug on the hole to prevent bad odours reach Mr de St Allouarn!.  I think that the pipe is seen stick out under the quarter gallery base.

Hello Armand-
I use your photos a lot for guidance. They're great, and your work is beautiful. My question comes from your construction of the door hardware for the two aft doors in the upper hold. That's where I am right now. The hinges I made in 1/48 look fine. But the latches are too clunky, too large. They are as small as I can make them and put drill holes in for the fastenings. I suppose I could make them smaller if I just glued them on. The smallest wire I can find in brass is 0.0195 in diameter. Holes for that wire make the latches too big. What is your advise?

Sorry, I'm not often on the forum actually ... lot of work.
I don't really have advices for your problem. I work at 1/36, it's a bit easier. The hole is made with a thin self made needle, flatened at its end. For the doors, the piece of metal is shaped like a knife blade, so that they are a bit bigger than the hole, and they cut the wood when i put them in place, with a little drop of glue.
