Après avoir fait des essais de vernis "nouvelles tendances" je suis revenu au fond dur diluer à l'acétone et aussitôt essuyé.

Voici le résultat:

Having made a few tests with different varnishes, I have gone back to a sealer/pore filler diluted with acetone that is wiped off immediatly after application.
Here is the result:



Le bois a perdu un peu de sa couleur rose naturelle mais cela ne me choque pas, d'autant plus que le poirier change de couleur avec l'âge.

The wood lost some of its pink natural tone. I am not upset about it as the tone of pearwood changes while aging.

mais au 1/48 éme alors que Jean-Paul est au 1/36 éme

Ayant commandé le latex pour mouler les canons celui-ci met du temps à venir de la région de Jean-Paul.    
Alors pour voir j'ai tourné en buis quelques canons  
qu'en pensez-vous ?

Very nice turning.  Is this a male for a mold and if so are you going to cast the cannons with what material?

Si vous avez fait plusieurs canons en buis , il vous sera possible de faire plusieurs empreintes de canons dans le même moule et ainsi pouvoir " couler " plusieurs canons en même temps .
Tout dépend du diamètre des canons , car si vos canons ne dépasse pas 0,6 cms , il existe des barres en laiton de ce diamètre et ainsi  les touner de la même façon .
Bientôt on pourra faire une bataille navale   , je passe mes vacances dans le finistère au mois de juillet !

If you made several masters it will be possible to have several forms for casting in the same mould.
It all depends on the diameter of the gun as if the guns are not more than 0.6 cm, you can find brass rods that can be turned.
We will soon be able to engage in a batle  I will be spending my July vacation in you area!

Je passe  les 15 premiers jours de juillet à plouhihec , et si l'on peut prendre une date ( par message privé ) pour se rencontrer et me presenter le GV  ce serais super

Sincèrement si  l'on pouvait organiser avec nos amis bretons de ce forum du GV et jpb une journée spéciale crêperie façon mère "POULARDE" et couscous en soirée j'en serais ravi .

On pourrrait aussi tenter une reconstitution de l'une des batailles navale du commonwealth sur un lac des environs    

Pour en revenir au sujet principal .

S'il est possible de fondre du laiton dans un tube d'acier d'un diamètre de 12 ou 14 mm , vous aurez ainsi des barres de laiton d'un diamètre convenable pour tourner les canons .

La technique du tournage  donne de plus beaux résultats et apparemment vu votre  modèle en buis c'est magnifique ...

I will be spending the first 15 days of July in Plouhihec and if we can fix a date, it would be nice to meet and have a look at your GV.
If we could put together a day with all the members from Britany it would be great.

If you could melt brass in a iron tube of 12 to 14mm in diameter, you would end up with brass rods suitable to turn the guns.
Turning them will give you better results looking at your test gun made out of boxwood.
