| Auteur : | Sujet: Length, Joints for Waterways and Binding Strakes | Bas |
| Pierre Blanc Messages postés : 693 ![]() |
Hello Bob. I don't know if I understood perfectly your problem but the joins of different parts of waterways, binding strakes etc... are shown in the plate 13 of the monography. The joins are made on the middle of the beams, there are single joins no scarf joins.

Pierre, Thank you for your reply. True Plate 13 showsthe notches in the beams to accommodate the Binding strakes etc. Plate 13 also shows thr binding strakes as dotted lines over the notches in the beams, but I don't see where the length of the strakes strakes start and stop. I'm pretty sure there are no binding strakes that run the full length of the ship. I assume from your answer that they are butt joints. What I am asking about is the nominal length of binding strakes, side strakes and waterways between the butt joints. OK now that I've taken a more careful look Plate 13 shows the butt joints in the top half (port side) of the plate. Thanks again for your reply. I knew it would be something obvious that I had overlooked. Regards Bob --Last edited by Rpowell on 2006-08-30 02:44:59 -- |

Planche 19 les bossoirs présentent sur la vue dessus un espace en pointillé, je suppose qu'il représente le point d'appuis de la courbe. l'anneau indiqué sur le plan doit il être placé vers les poulaines ou vers l'extérieur. merci d'avance ----------- Plate 19: the catheads show a dotted line on the view from above. I am assuming that it represents the support knee. Should the ring shown on the plan be located towards the head or towards the outside. Thank you. --Last edited by G. La surface en pointillé est bien la zone d'appui de la branche supérieure de la courbe. La cheville à boucle est placée vers l'extérieur de la coque. ---------- The area shown in dotted lines is the upper arm of the support knee. The eyebolt is to be placed towards the outside of the hull. --Last edited by G. Korent on 2006-10-11 19:40:31 --
